Hello, I’m Daniel Aguilera Sánchez, from Chile, I was born in the city of Calama, right next to Chuquicamata copper mine, at the very heart of the Atacama Desert. I’m an architect, moved to Taiwan in 2011 thanks to a scholarship granted by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, I studied Chinese at ICLP and then obtained a master degree in Creative and Sustainable Architecture Studies at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT - 國立臺北科技大學). I lived in Taipei City and also in Zhubei City. I came back to Chile in 2022.
The name “urbaguilera” comes from combining the term “urbanism” with my last name, “Aguilera”. Most of my photography is focused on urban aesthetics, city identity, and cultural aspects of the architecture form. I also put special attention to historic Chinese and Japanese buildings, traditional gardens, as well as to contemporary urban landmarks.
